Cathy is first and foremost a student of life, love and connection. She is most passionate about supporting students to develop personal practices that assist individual transformation and planetary evolution. Her yoga classes emphasize sound therapeutic alignment, integration with the cycles of nature and celebration of the heart. Cathy is genuine, passionate and playful - teaching out of her own life experience from the most authentic places within her, she inspires others to connect more deeply with their own heart, vulnerability and greatness.  She strives to communicate with honesty and clarity, and is dedicated to creating an open, supportive and sacred space for students of all ages and abilities. Teaching of many varieties throughout the years has taught her patience, keen observation, and deep compassion.

Cathy began practicing yoga twenty years ago during her first pregnancy in 1996 simply because she wanted to feel better and found that it helped her reconnect with her body. She has been teaching yoga for 10 years and has over 1,000 hours of training  in Ashaya, Anusara and various therapeutic modalities.  Cathy is registered with Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200, RYT 500 having completed Todd Norian’s 200hr YTT in 2008 and Ashaya Yoga’s 300hr in 2016 and she remains a life long student. Cathy is also an ordained minister available to preside over ceremonies at OSYB and afar.  She is currently pursuing  further studies in Interfaith Ministry and Interspirituality at OneSpirit Seminary in NYC and will graduate in June 2018.

Cathy has three lively, teenagers and the quality of her family life and marriage is of supreme importance to her. She has been teaching yoga out of her home since 2007 and was inspired to co-create Open Sky Yoga Barn in 2011 on her property in Redding CT to combine her love of yoga & service with family life.  When Cathy is not doing the mom thing or teaching at OSYB, she can be found hiking in the woods with her dog Gracie, walking the labyrinth, dancing, singing, laughing, reading, writing, gardening and preparing healthy food.  Above all else, Cathy’s intention is to live wholeheartedly. She is on a quest to love herself more fully everyday, reflect her light and from this place support and inspire others in their own awakening to love, evolution and transformation.  She is grateful for all of her students, colleagues and teachers, especially Todd Norian and Suzie Hurley for their support and inspiration. She is deeply appreciative of her husband Scott and children who continue to be her greatest teachers of all.
